Getting a haircut – the sequel!

October 22, 2008

Local shops…In the chair….

Well, as promised here is the long awaited sequel to “the haircut”…

Today I ventured back to my “local” shops and my trusty barber Mr. Liu, as usual we conversed by sign language, but being the consumate professional he is this was no barrier to Mr. Liu’s tonsorial efforts and I emerged from his chair suitably remodeled and ready for another two weeks in Shanghai!

I have to admit that Mr. Liu was rather perplexed as to why I should need to take a photograph of myself in the barber’s chair and my sign language failed to convey my message that I had no intention of legal action….

  1. Hi Don,
I’ve RSSed you so will keep across what you’re up to from now on.
It’s really good to see where you are and what you’re getting up to, so keep these blogs coming. I have no idea what China is like (other than through the Olympic coverage, etc) so what seem like everyday, run of the mill stuff to you – like a haircut – is actually interesting!
    Cheers for now,
    JR

  2. This is great dad! Look forward to reading some more…

p.s. Rambo is missing his daily sausage roll. I did manage to sneak him some cake yesterday when mum wasn’t watching.

  3. AHA! Quite an amusing insight into Shanghai life. Uncle John described it best, for some reason, getting a haircut seems so much more interesting than boring old Australia haircuts.

Keep the photos coming as well. Remember, you don’t win friends with big blocks of text!

    Keep it up!
